What to expect at a visual arts camp

At a camp specializing in the visual arts, your child will receive instruction in one or more art forms from a trained professional. They’ll learn specific techniques, and practice and repeat them, using different artistic media.

Your child will also likely receive feedback on their work from both instructors and fellow campers. Such collaboration can help them develop their skills and improve their work. It can also be very exciting and rewarding.

Visual arts programs offer instruction in a number of different types of art forms. These include the following:

    Finding a visual arts camp

Visual or fine arts camps are offered in the summer and winter, during winter and spring break, and on PA days. Some of these camps offer a wide range of different art activities, and thus, are sometimes simply referred to as “art camps” or “arts and crafts camps.” Others offer more specialized programs, focusing on a specific type of art, such as drawing, painting, or filmmaking. And, others offer art as one among many activities.
