Choosing the right gymnastics camp

You'll find yourself weighing a variety of options as you research. For example, your choices might include gymnastics overnight summer camps vs a day camp. While an overnight camp might seem like a daunting commitment for some, it does offer the advantage of an unparalleled immersion in the sport. Overnight summer camp with other gymnasts their own age can offer them extended personal instruction. Here, your child can meet and compete with the best girls and boys of their age group.

These camps will be fully equipped with a variety of floor and acrobatic equipment including vault, bars and beam, a tumbling track and trampolines. These allow your child to fully explore gymnastics activities and learn which they excel at. There will also be secondary activities that will encourage socialization beyond a focus on gymnastics. Typical activities will include arts & crafts, interactive games, outdoor activities and other daily events.

Gymnastics camps offer training for other sports as well

Let's not forget of course that gymnastics is an excellent way for your daughter or son to remain active and fit. Many athletes from various sports use gymnastics to help keep themselves limber; for example, some professional hockey goaltenders engage in numerous gymnastics activities in order to avoid stretching injuries.
