Here's what makes Veg Camp stand out

We are a secular, plant-based summer camp in Schomberg, Ontario. Since 2014, our campers have enjoyed traditional camp activities such as high ropes, low ropes, hiking, swimming, shelter building, archery, crafts as well as yoga, meditation & environmental education. Our program helps build leadership, critical thinking, and team-building while encouraging respect for animals, people & the planet. Camp runs from July 5-11 for youth aged 9-17. Campers are divided into age appropriate grouping for learning sessions and campers in Grade 10-12 have the option of earning an Ontario high school with the in-person portion held at camp. A dedicated team of counsellors brings energy, passion & fun to every camper’s experience.

  • Reviews & Insider Perspectives

The Our Kids review of Veg Camp

    our take

This eco-oriented camp is a one-of-a-kind overnight camp experience just outside of Schomberg, an hour north of the GTA. What truly sets it apart is the focus on a vegetarian lifestyle, inclusiveness, and everyday mindfulness. Campers 9 to 17 come together for a week of outdoor adventure, exploration, and community building to engage in small-group experiential learning of their connections to the Earth, animals, and others. Activities include ropes challenges, hiking, archery, rock climbing, yoga, and exploration of nature in Cedar Glen Outdoor Centre on the Oak Ridges Moraine. Hands-on learning about sustainability is also key. Meals are all plant-based fare, reflecting the camp’s core ethos. Many leaders are former campers here; it’s a camp kids love returning to yearly. Campers take away a heightened awareness of themselves and the world around them.
