    our take

The Columbus Centre’s vibrant lineup of camps is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and create lasting memories. Programs include cooking, Minecraft, and a Tennis Canada-approved camp that uses the “Progressive Tennis” model to help kids succeed early and stay engaged. Camps are led by enthusiastic staff who love working with kids—many of them studying to become educators. It’s a fun, inclusive space where kids grow socially and academically while exploring new interests. Teamwork, creativity, and curiosity are at the heart of every program. The Centre has been a cultural hub since 1980, rooted in the Italian-Canadian community and known for a commitment to arts, wellness, and community. Director's Message

I am an educator and organizer with my roots in music and theatre. I started running youth theatre programs over a decade ago, and have since assisted and then administered an expanding portfolio of youth development programs, from music schools, to dance and sports programs, and I'm now honored to be running the variety of camp programs that we offer here at the Columbus Centre. We strive to instill kindness, cooperation, and collaborative values in our campers, and the growth we've seen in our campers both short and long term makes me confident that we are achieving that goal more and more effectively every year. I am always happy to connect with past or perspective camp families by email or phone. There are no silly questions or concerns too small to get in touch, just be patient in case my young performers or myself are currently producing a show.

    Staff and Counsellors

The Columbus Centre Camps primarily hire undergraduate students pursuing education-related degree programs, many of whom aspire to become teachers. We have found that these counsellors excel in managing groups of young people and are adept at anticipating and addressing potential interpersonal or temperamental challenges among campers Furthermore, as current students, they foster an environment that helps our campers grow and evolve their critical thinking and collaborative skills, providing an inclusive and enriching environment for all.
