Second Nature Summer Camp is an inclusive, outdoor-based summer camp focused on play, connection, and meaningful experiences, offering a classic summer camp feel with a modern, child-led approach. We are located in Kemptville, Ontario, and this will be our first summer offering camp programming in Kemptville, following a successful season previously run out of our Ottawa location. Second Nature has been serving children and families since 2023. Our programming includes outdoor exploration, trail walks, group games, creative activities, water play, sensory experiences, and unstructured play, all designed to support social connection, confidence, and joyful movement. Summer camp runs in weekly, full-day sessions throughout the summer.

Second Nature Summer Camp offers a slower, more intentional summer experience where kids are free to be kids. We focus on outdoor play, connection, and unstructured time rather than rigid schedules or over-programming. Our camp culture is relaxed, welcoming, and inclusive, allowing friendships to form naturally through shared adventures, movement, and play. Families choose Second Nature for its old-school summer camp feel, thoughtful supervision, and strong sense of community. We’re most proud of creating a space where children feel safe, connected, and excited to come back each day; coming home tired, happy, and full of stories.

All registration information is available on the Summer Camp tab of our website, and registration is currently open. No specific qualifications or additional requirements are needed. Cancellations made 21 days (3 weeks) or more before the start of the registered camp week will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 21 days are non-refundable; a credit toward a future week may be offered if the space can be filled, but credits are not guaranteed and are subject to availability.

Our staff and counsellors include a diverse team of RECEs, experienced camp counsellors, and dedicated educators. All staff are required to hold current First Aid certification, complete Vulnerable Sector Checks, and have experience working with children of varying abilities and needs. We prioritize continuity, strong leadership, and relationship-based care, and take a trauma-informed approach across all programming, recognizing that children come from many different backgrounds and experiences.
