What are my camp options in High Park?

In High Park, you’ll find STEM camps, sports summer camps, and music camps. Traditional summer day camps in the area offer a variety of activities that get kids active and help them meet other kids from the neighbourhood.

If you commute, you may be able to drop kids off at camps elsewhere in the GTA. Find more expansive pages on our site including pages on:

How to find the best camp for your child

If you’re looking for a great summer camp, we recommend that you start as early as possible. The best place to start is the The Toronto summer camp expo, held every February.  There, you’ll learn about the breadth of options and meet camps and their leaders, along with campers and parents face-to-face. When you talk to camps there or through Camps.ca’s contact forms in profiles linked above, here are some questions to ask:

  • How are counsellors certified or trained?
  • What is the camps’ goal or expected outcome?
  • How much does your camp focus on what my child likes or that they’ll learn from?
  • How are groups made up, and how big is each grouping or session?
  • How does the camp deal with discipline, safety issues, and bullying, if it arises?
  • What are the times for drop off and pickup, and do they fit with my schedule?

On our sister site, OurKids.net, you’ll find a longer list of questions to ask camps.
