Activities in Haliburton summer camps
Haliburton is a popular provincial destination for overnight camps, with kids coming from cities like Ottawa, Toronto, and as far as London and Sarnia. Activities at these camps are similar to many overnight camps, including everything from soccer and ziplining to performing arts and arts and crafts. While there are also day camps and March Break camps in the area, it’s a great place to also find winter break camps.
Other camps nearby
Haliburton is kind of a gateway to the north for kids from the GTA and southern Ontario. Other popular areas for overnight experiences include summer camps in Algonquin Park, camps in the Muskoka Region, and camps in Ottawa Region.
Costs of Haliburton camps
Camps in the area vary widely in relation to what you are looking for. Day camps start at $150 per week but specialized camps will cost in the range of $400 or higher. Overnight camps are a heavier investment, of course – they usually start around $1000 per week – but you get what you pay for. They’re an investment in kids’ future, their maturation, and personal development.
Finding the best Haliburton camp for your family
Families in the Greater Toronto Area who are looking for a great overnight camp in Haliburton or anywhere else need to attend Our Kids’ annual Toronto Summer Camp Expo held in February. This gives you a jump on planning your summer and ample time to consider options. At the expo, you can meet with many camps all in one day, talking to camp leaders and campers, and getting answers to questions about camps’ values, expectations, activities, and much more.
Before going to the expo, read our list of summer camp advice. Here are helpful hints that will prepare you for the expo and help you find the best camp for your family.:
