Laugh, play and discover with Appleby's Early Discovery Program, designed to engage active and creative children ages 4-7.

Laugh, play and discover with Appleby's Early Discovery Program, specifically designed to engage active and creative children ages 4-7. Whether it’s working on arts & crafts projects, practicing skills and drills in new sports or laughing while playing physically distant camp games, there is plenty of fun to be had! Led by experienced teachers and qualified instructors, the Early Discovery Program operates in small groups with a 1:5 camper to staff ratio to ensure close monitoring, encouragement and attention. All campers are provided with a nutritious hot lunch served in their designated locations, as well as the option of recreational swimming time in the Appleby pool. Join us for a fantastic week of carefully planned age-appropriate activities in one of the streams listed below.

Our 60-acre campus allows ample space to host activities outside, without cohorts coming into contact with one another.  Wherever possible, activities will take place in outdoor spaces, even those that traditionally would be inside, and campers can expect to be outside each day, whenever programming and weather allows.   There are so many great aspects of our campus for fun and adventure for Discovery campers!  The big open spaces are great for Sports, the landscapes provide ideal inspiration for arts discovery and forest areas inspire natural science exploration!

Our scheduled programming each camp day will run from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. with a drop off window between 8:15 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.; and a pick up window between 3:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.. Exact time slots for both drop off and pick up will be determined for your camper's program and communicated closer to camp.

Each camp listed below will be offered for all 11 weeks this summer, in both the Jr. (4-5 yrs) and Sr. (6-7 yrs) age groups.

Appleby Camps prides itself on low camper to staff ratios, and we continue to stay up to date on all Covid-19 related protocols to keep our camp families safe and healthy.

Special Note to Parents of Campers Born in 2017: Please be aware that in order to comply with provincial childcare legislation, any child enrolled in Appleby Camps must be at least 4 years of age at the time of their attendance at camp.

Discovery Jr. is designed for campers ages 4-5 years old, and Discovery Sr. is designed for campers 6-7 years old.  If your camper is currently 5 and turns 6 during the calendar year, you can decide whether Jr or Sr would be the better fit for them, considering when they turn 6, level of maturity, being the oldest vs youngest in the group and other factors that contribute to a successful experience.  If your child turns 7 during the calendar year (by December 31st), they are eligible for Discovery Sr. programs and our regular camp options (for campers 7 & older).  You can pick which program would be the best fit for them.  Please call our office if you wish to discuss.

Laugh, play & discover with our Camp & Sports Discovery Camp specifically designed to engage active and creative kids. This all-encompassing program provides exposure to the youngest of athletes to various sport skills as well as arts and crafts, nature discovery, and cooperative games. Using many traditional, yet modified sports, such as basketball, balloon volleyball, bowling, soccer or T-ball, and a multitude of small individual fun challenges, the benefits lie in increased hand-eye coordination, control of actions, and in the confidence gained along the way. Basic game understanding and respect for rules, teammates and opponents are key features and a new, fun theme weekly adds to the adventure.

This camp is for young campers to begin exploring and growing their artistic talents in an inspiring and motivating setting. Using weekly themes, Arts Discovery campers typically create a piece of artwork, explore music and movement and learn a dance to perform on stage. The program promotes flexibility, self-confidence, fine- and gross-motor coordination and communication skills.

Exciting explorations, delightful discoveries, and wild wonders await Discovery campers in the Nature and Science Discovery program! From creating bubbling potions to launching rockets, to the science behind disappearing water, our professional staff members will lead dynamic science demonstrations and fun hands-on experiments! It has the right mix of creative experiments, learning science concepts, and outdoor cooperative activities.
