Get ready to roll up your sleeves and explore the art of clay! This hands-on camp invites campers ages 7–13 to discover the endless possibilities of working with clay through two exciting themed weeks:

Week 3: Sculpture & Form – “Clay Creators”

Campers will dive into the world of 3D art, learning how to build armatures and model characters. Projects include creating animals, people, fantasy creatures, and abstract forms. Along the way, campers will develop essential skills such as shaping, joining pieces securely, and using tools to add texture and detail. This week is all about imagination and bringing creative ideas to life in sculptural form.

Week 6: Functional Clay Art – “Clay for Everyday”

This week focuses on making usable items that combine creativity with function. Campers will learn hand-building techniques like pinch, coil, and slab to create projects such as pinch pots, mugs, plates, and pencil holders. It’s the perfect opportunity to design personalized pieces that can be enjoyed at home.

Please note: We use special air-dry clay for all projects, and do not use a kiln. This means campers can take their creations home at the end of the week without waiting for firing or glazing.

Each day includes plenty of clay time along with fun activities like outdoor games, recreational swim, and a nutritious lunch in Appleby’s cafeteria. Campers will finish the week with a collection of their own clay creations to take home and treasure.

Whether your camper is new to clay or already loves working with their hands, Creations with Clay Camp offers a supportive, inspiring environment to explore art in a tactile, creative way.
