Family camps for 2026/2027

Family summer camps may vary in structure, but in general, these offer children-only activities mixed in with whole-family activities that integrate parents, children and teens. Summer camps throughout Canada and the northern United States offer families a unique way to grow together. These are sometimes called family-integrated or intergenerational camps. The latter especially makes sense: the best family summer camps encourage families to spend time together outdoors, with activities specifically geared toward bonding together, perhaps in friendly competition with other families. And of course, these are not restricted to just nuclear families: grandparents and great grandparents can camp, too. The more the merrier, of course!

Christian family camps are a specific type of religious family camp but one that is very popular. A Christian family camp offers families a positive, wholesome, noise-reduced environment. Here, parents and kids can spend time outdoors during the summer. Camps will often offer outdoor activities in which the whole family can engage and meet other families from a similar background. There will also be chapel services. These camps often excel at making Bible-based activities fun and engaging.

Whatever your specific interests or background, you can bet that time together in a natural setting will be a good time of bonding (even in the rain!) These camps will feature simple lodgings, and many of them have meals included (check details in the full camp profile, linked to above). Activities can include outdoor play, arts and crafts, and plenty of social time. Be sure to ask plenty of questions about lodging, to make sure you know what you are in for. Campgrounds may vary widely in terms of the sizes of cabins available, as well as amenities and facilities (bed sizes, number of beds per cabin, etc.)
