Regular Overnight Camp is the heart of the Camp Kee-Mo-Kee experience. This traditional, down-to-earth, five-night overnight camp invites campers to unplug from technology and reconnect with themselves, with nature, and with one another. Life at Kee-Mo-Kee is simple, active, creative, and deeply relational—focused on building confidence, friendships, and unforgettable summer memories.

What makes this program special

Kee-Mo-Kee blends classic overnight camp traditions with a thoughtful, camper-centred structure. Campers experience everything camp has to offer through shared cabin rotations, while also having the freedom to follow their interests during Camper Choice programs. Our emphasis on unplugging, community, outdoor play, and staff-led creativity creates a warm, welcoming environment where every camper can belong, try new things, and grow.

The Fab 5 Activity Areas

All programming is rooted in our Fab 5 activity areas, each led by a senior staff member who brings passion and expertise to that space:

  • Forest & Nature – Exploring Carolinian forests and Komoka Creek, building curiosity, stewardship, and comfort in the outdoors.
  • Sports – Gaga Ball, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, archery, and cooperative games that promote teamwork and active fun.
  • Arts & Crafts – Creative expression through zines, drawing, collage, bracelet-making, and imaginative projects.
  • Challenge & Adventure – Wilderness skills, low ropes, team challenges, and the climbing wall that encourage resilience and confidence.
  • The Pool – Daily opportunities to splash, cool off, and have fun under the supervision of certified lifeguards.

What a typical day looks like

Mornings are spent in cabin rotations, with two one-hour activity blocks. Cabins move through activities together, strengthening friendships and ensuring every camper experiences all areas of camp—including activities they might not choose on their own.

Afternoons are all about choice and exploration:

  • T.N.T. (Try New Things): Campers choose one skill-based session for the week and return to it daily, building confidence and mastery. Past offerings include Dungeons & Dragons storytelling, ukulele, wilderness skills, zine-making, spirituality & real kindness, and more.
  • C.Y.O.A. (Choose Your Own Adventure): Campers select from 4–5 options each day, balancing athletic, creative, wilderness, and “wild card” activities led by staff passions.

Daily All-Camp Games bring the whole camp together for large-scale adventures like Capture the Chicken, Colours, or Survival—high-energy moments that build community and camp spirit.

During transitions, campers gather in the Quad for informal fun like Nine Square, basketball, cornhole, or bracelet-making.

Evenings feature camp-wide programs such as campfires, carnivals, talent shows, cabin activities, movie nights, or themed events—ending each day with laughter, reflection, and connection.

Themes & takeaways

Each session is wrapped in an imaginative weekly theme that shapes games, activities, and storytelling—from Under the Sea and Wizards & Wonders to KMK Olympics and Out of This World. Campers leave with new skills, stronger independence, deeper friendships, and the confidence that comes from being known, included, and celebrated.

Regular Overnight Camp at Camp Kee-Mo-Kee is where childhood feels free, friendships grow fast, and every camper finds a place to belong.

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Resilience: Through unplugged living, shared cabin life, and daily challenges, Regular Overnight Camp builds resilience by encouraging campers to try new things, face setbacks, and keep going with support from peers and staff. Campers learn confidence, adaptability, and optimism through real experience.
  • Curiosity: At Regular Overnight Camp, curiosity is sparked through hands-on exploration of nature, arts, sports, and adventure. Campers try new activities, ask questions, and follow their interests, fostering a love of learning, discovery, and the excitement of uncovering new skills and passions.
