    Who are youth empowerment camps for and what programs do they have?

    Youth empowerment camps, also called “social justice camps,” are primarily intended for teens. Many, though, are also open to preteens.

    These camps are a great option for kids who want to expand their horizons, build confidence, and connect with a like-minded community. Kids who are passionate about social issues and want to make a difference in the world are an especially good fit.

    Youth empowerment summer camps and programs offer training, exercises, and activities related to social justice. Your child will learn about a wide range of local and global issues:

    • Poverty and homelessness
    • The environment and climate change
    • Racism and bigotry
    • Bullying
    • Gay rights
    • Sexuality
    • Animal cruelty
