Here's what makes Ignite Academy stand out

Ignite Academy is more than just a camp or a classroom, it is a launchpad for the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders. We are a specialized academic enrichment organization based in West End Toronto, dedicated to bridging the gap between traditional classroom learning and the real-world skills required for the future. Founded by a serial entrepreneur and business professor, our mission is to spark curiosity and ambition in children during their most formative years. Our programming is focused on students in Grades 3-6. We offer: Weekly workshops during the school year and Immersive week-long experiences during March and Summer breaks.

Our curriculum is designed to ignite five key pillars of development: Innovation & Creativity: We teach students to look at the world differently and design original solutions. Critical Thinking: Students apply core numeracy and logic to analyze costs, set prices, and validate their ideas. Communication & Collaboration: No entrepreneur succeeds alone. We focus heavily on team building, persuasive writing, and oral presentation skills. Financial Literacy: We make math meaningful by applying it to business models, budgeting, and profit projection. Confidence: By the end of our programs, students walk away with the self-assurance that they have the power to create something real.

The Our Kids review of Ignite Academy

    our take

Ignite Academy’s founder, Ana Caracaleanu, understands that kids are naturally innovative, and her camps and programs harness that, benefiting also from her experience in teaching, business, and as a parent. Kids learn to think independently, collaborate with others, and explore real-world concepts at their level in programs focused on entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Programs offer teamwork challenges, interactive workshops, and project-based learning, but at their essence, they encourage hands-on experience. It's a unique opportunity to get a head start on following your passion, testing your own ideas, and developing your financial understanding.

    Director's Message

My vision for this academy is shaped by three distinct roles I hold dear: I am a mother, a serial entrepreneur, and a business professor. Sitting in university lecture halls, I see firsthand what the next generation needs to succeed. It isn't just rote memorization; it is the ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and adapt with resilience. As a mother, I also know that these skills cannot flourish in a high-pressure environment. Children need a safe harbour, a place where they are free to explore their true value, voice their wildest ideas, and learn that "failure" is just a stepping stone to innovation. I founded Ignite Future Skills Academy to be that space. We are not just building businesses here; we are building people. Whether we are prototyping a product or calculating a budget, our true goal is to help your child discover their own grit, grow their confidence, and ignite the future skills that will serve them for a lifetime. I look forward to welcoming your young innovator to our community. Warmly, Ana Carcaleanu Founder & Director, Ignite Future Skills Academy

    Staff and Counsellors

Our programming is developed and directly facilitated by our founder, Ana Caracaleanu. Ana is a serial Canadian entrepreneur and an active Professor in the Business Schools of colleges and universities across the GTA. With a foot in both the academic and business worlds, and as a mother herself, Ana ensures that every workshop is not only educational but practical, safe, and nurturing. Students aren't just supervised; they are mentored by a real-world expert who understands how to ignite a spark in young minds. Every staff member and guest speaker must provide a clear Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening. All on-site staff are required to hold current CPR and Standard First Aid certifications.
