Medics Camp is a unique STEM/STEAM camp where kids ages 5-14 get to be "Doctors for a Week". We provide an opportunity for bright, intellectually curious kids to become immersed in the world of medical science. Each day at Medics Camp has different medical related themes upon which age based activities, experiments and games are delivered in a fun and creative way. First Aid Fridays are a part of every camp theme week. Knowing basic first aid even at a young age is an important life skill. Our mission is to kids get excited about science and feel confident and empowered to help others.
Our virtual Medics Camp have been extremely since our launch 2020. The demand for fun and engaging STEM programs continues to grow. We have created new camp themes or programs each year since we started. New for 2022 we welcome our First Aid Leadership (FALCON) program for youth ages 13 & 14 to our camp offerings. This brings our total virtual camps to 9 plus our two onsite versions brings us to 11. (yes, there will definitely be a 12)
Also, new for 2022 we're making it even easier for kids everywhere to begin their medical journey with us by offering a build your own material kit option-DIY. We will still make material kits for those who prefer that option for an additional fee, but we heard last summer from several kids in other countries who wanted to attend Medics Camp but couldn't due to shipping costs and unreliable postal services. We want to bring the Medics Camp STEM program to kids everywhere so adjustments to some of the activities have been made to enable campers to easily source items locally themselves and build their own kit. While we saw this as a need to fill, we also felt it provided an opportunity for campers and their families to extend the Medics Camp experience since building the kit would need to be done before the first day of camp. It would be a bit like a scavenger hunt as they prepare, print, purchase and repurpose items. This type of activity also promotes independence, time management and organizational skills on the part of the camper. We encourage parents to let their child build as much of the kit as they can. Even the young Munchkin Medics will enjoy taking charge as they work with a family member to safely collect the items needed for their daily instructor led zoom session and feel a sense of accomplishment as they cross each item off of their list.
The times posted for the daily 2 hour instructor led zoom sessions are Eastern Time but kids in PT, CT & MT time zones can attend too. We've updated our website to make the time zone conversion easier to see at a glance. Prices for our camps are in CAD and we accept all major credit cards. For our US clients, the currency conversion is automatically done by your financial institution and the exchange rate is still quite favorable for you with usually a savings of at least 25%-35%
