What I can expect in a ballet class

In a ballet class, your child will be taught and supervised by a trained instructor. They’ll learn many ballet moves and positions, which may include the plié, pirouette, allégro, adagio, tendu, and demi-pointe. They’ll also learn proper stretches, exercises, and choreography. And they may have the opportunity to showcase their burgeoning skills in front of an audience (which may include yourself!).

How ballet class can benefit my child

Whether your child is a toddler or an older teenager, ballet can be just what they’re looking for. Ballet will allow your child to improve their dancing skills, coordination, and fitness level. It can also benefit your child in some less obvious ways. For instance, it can boost your child’s:

    • confidence,
    • self-esteem,
    • social skills,

    Where ballet classes are offered

Ballet is a great summer or winter activity. Ballet classes are also offered during March break, winter break, during passover, and on PA days.

Sometimes ballet offered as part of a specialized dance school, which also feature other types of dance, such as ballroom, jazz, or hip hop. Other times it’s offered in a traditional camp or program, alongside other activities, such as swimming, tennis, sailing, and martial arts (such as taekwondo).
