Course Length: 8 Hr

National Lifeguard Recertification

  • For National Lifeguard-Pool certified candidates needing recertification
  • Skills are demonstrated in an exam setting
  • Candidates respond to situations as a single guard and member of a guard team
  • Exam includes object recovery, sprint, and management of various victim types
  • Requires a 400m timed swim in under 10 minutes
  • Certification valid for 2 years

Candidates are encouraged to practice the physical standards and review Standard First Aid knowledge ahead of their recertification.

Prerequisite

Previous National Lifeguard-Pool certification

Candidate recognition

National Lifeguard certification card valid for 24 months.


Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Physicality: Perform the physical skills to Lifesaving Society Standards
  • Interpersonal skills: Work solo or as part of a team
