Combining fun, adventure, with STEAM programming is what Camp Laureate does best. The blend of science, technology, engineering, arts, math, and sports with outdoor activities like archery, hiking, field and water games, make this camp challenging and engaging. Staff are well-trained as counselors, but also professionals in their fields outside of camp. They are made up of local teachers, business owners, coaches, and childcare workers. Not only will kids learn STEAM programs, they’ll learn it from those who are experienced and skilled in their respective fields. There are quite a few speciality camps to choose from, so kids can focus on what interests them the most. Run by Laureate College, Camp Laureate is located on 50 acres, backing onto the Bruce Trail. Campers will have plenty of room to roam, although the many activities will keep them wanting to stay close. A fairly new camp, no detail was overlooked in the making of Camp Laureate as a one-of-a-kind camp experience.

Transcript of our interview with Katie, Camp Director
What makes our camp unique is that we are a STEAM camp—we offer science, arts, and sports programming and weekly specialized programs that happen once per summer.
Our specialists in art, science, and sports are professionals from the community who come each morning to lead their activity. Then in the afternoon, campers enjoy a mix of traditional day-camp activities.
We have kids between 6 and 14, and they all do well at Camp Laureate. Campers who are especially curious about science beyond school, or who want to explore more in arts or sports, will thrive here.
Our camp day is very structured. Campers spend half the day in their chosen specialty, be it art, science, or sports, with their group counselor and specialist. After a hot lunch provided by our kitchen staff, they move into traditional day-camp activities like arts and crafts, field games, water games, archery etc. run by their group counselors.
Thursdays are different with our Theme Day. Instead of specialty programming, we run activities tied to that week's theme and bring in a special guest for an interactive workshop, performance or stations. For example, during our Superheros Assemble week, we had Captain America and Captain Marvel come in to run a superhero boot camp. In another week, Brown's Martial Arts came in for a kickboxing lesson.
While everything ties back to our STEAM focus, each week brings something new and exciting.
All of our counselors are trained in behavior management, and if a camper is having a tough day, we have a behavior specialist who can step in and support the group. Our campers form close-knit communities and friendships, so we rarely have major issues. If something does come up that the staff can't handle, it gets brought to Emma or myself, and we address it, as needed.
It's the overall experience. We create an atmosphere where campers feel welcome and engaged with hands-on STEAM programming every day. Campers love the connections they make with their counselors, the activities, Theme Day, and even the food at camp.
The culture we've built means kids leave tired and happy. We also host a parent night so families can experience the camp together and feel like a part of our Camp Laureate family.
We can't wait to see you at camp! Join us for one or more weeks, pick a theme that fits your interests. Whether you're a budding photographer or a young scientist, we've got something for you. Don’t let the specialties scare you; try something new and you might just find a new passion. We’ve had campers switch from science to arts after one week because they loved it so much.
We also offer flexible registration, so you’re not locked into a full week. If you need childcare Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we can pro-rate the experience. Plus, we offer payment plans to help make camp more affordable. We’re running all summer for seven weeks, so there’s plenty of opportunity to come see what it’s all about. Give it a try!

At Camp Laureate, where the scent of pine mingles with the thrill of outdoor activities, this summer witnessed an extraordinary moment. In an unexpected twist, camper Sam stepped up to face off against the unbeaten camp director, Katie, in an archery competition that left everyone on the edge of their seats. Known for her unparalleled skill, Katie had remained undefeated against both staff and campers, making Sam's triumph all the more surprising. With a perfect shot hitting the bullseye, Sam not only secured an unexpected victory but also etched their name into Camp Laureate's history, challenging the notion that some traditions are meant to be broken.
