This high energy dance style lets kids and teens break loose. Fundamental dance skills are introduced in beginner hip hop classes, such as rhythm, coordination, and synchronization. You can also learn popular hip hop dance moves, including breaking, body rolls, locking, popping, and contractions. Kids gain flexibility, and develop controlled and fluid hip hop style.
Camps create small dance troupes of campers, improving kids’ collaboration and social skills. Some camps integrate traditional camp activities into the curriculum, including arts and crafts and more. While hip hop dance camps tend to be female-dominated, they are coeducational, encouraging boys and girls to grow dance skills. Most hip hop camps average around $120 in cost. Longer, intensive dance camps may be $300 per session, but the joy kids gain makes them worth every penny. You never know if your child might have the skills and moves to compete on So You Think You Can Dance or related shows.
Advanced hip hop dance camps teach children complex hip hop moves popularized by television shows, movies, or other pop culture, as well as new and emerging moves. These camps might also discuss the origins and cultural impact of hip hop music and dance. Kids receive expert hip hop dance training that may help them launch a dance career. It will certainly enhance their fitness and physicality. Performances and recitals are a key part of the best hip hop dance camps.
Hip hop dance camps give kids a boost of confidence and energy. Here are some more benefits students can expect to gain from time in hip hop dance:
