This four-week intensive program is designed for aspiring leaders who want to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience in a camp setting. CITs begin with a week of training and workshops before completing three separate week-long placements in various Harbourfront Centre camps. During each placement, they will shadow a counsellor, assist with program planning and interact with campers as emerging leaders.


Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Responsibility: Awareness of the relationship between behaviour and consequences. Willingness to take ownership of consequences, good and bad.
  • Interpersonal skills: Ability to understand the emotions and behaviours of others, and to respond accordingly. Ability to compromise and listen. Communication skills. Leadership.
