These camps help bring out the joy of soccer for girls, who may start as young as five. They get to meet girls from throughout the city who all love competitive soccer. Coaching or practices at these camps will focus on specific exercises and drills, including dribbling, passing, striking, run-making and tactical play. Intensive week-long sessions will also feature scrimmages, along with some non-soccer activities. Curriculum at some camps may take a break from soccer focus, to offer typical activities like swimming, volleyball, etc.
Many camps offer one-on-one training, with learning presented at their level of understanding and skills development. They’ll be encouraged to push themselves harder and sharpen their game, mentally, physically and technically. In this setting, girls will strive harder to reach their athletic potential.
Many camps are recurrent, giving girls the chance to return year after year. Camps take on a long-term development of your daughter seriously. Of course, this feeds into personal growth and other personal benefits.
Benefits of an all-girls environment
The gender-restricted environment of a girls’ soccer camps or soccer school is one of its chief benefits. Girls have a chance to thrive apart from the distraction of boys. They will tend to feel less self-conscious, and they have a unique opportunity to stretch themselves. They’ll enjoy soccer more, be more comfortable making mistakes and exposing vulnerability.
The girls’ only environment gives them opportunity to develop leadership, independence and personal strength alongside the girls around them. They’ll have a chance to engage in conversations they might not otherwise have, learn things they might not otherwise learn. Your daughter will have the chance to take on unique responsibilities and act in ways that might not be possible in any other setting.
They can receive this benefit throughout the year at March break soccer schools or camps, and winter or holiday camps. Read more about the benefits all girls’ camps.
