Make winter break an opportunity for kids to cook, create and grow with COOKSMART Winter Break Camp! Our engaging program combines hands-on cooking with four key learning areas: cooking, nutrition, financial literacy, and social-emotional learning.

Through practical kitchen experiences, campers learn to prepare recipes, practise food safety, develop kitchen techniques and explore new ingredients. Nutrition lessons help children understand balanced eating, food choices and the role different foods play in supporting their health.

Beyond the kitchen, interactive financial literacy activities introduce age-appropriate concepts such as budgeting, money management and making thoughtful spending decisions. Social-emotional learning is woven into camp activities, helping children practise communication, teamwork, problem-solving, self-awareness and responsibility.

Campers also enjoy creative activities, games and seasonal experiences that make learning fun and memorable.

At COOKSMART, children do more than follow recipes. They develop practical skills, build confidence and learn lessons they can apply in the kitchen and throughout everyday life.

Our Four Learning Areas

Social-Emotional Learning: Develop communication, teamwork, problem-solving, self-awareness and responsibility.

Financial Literacy: Learn about money, budgeting, spending decisions and financial responsibility.

Nutrition: Explore balanced eating, ingredients, food groups and informed food choices.

Cooking: Prepare recipes, develop kitchen techniques and practise food safety.

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Independence: Campers develop independence by preparing recipes, following instructions, measuring ingredients and learning practical skills they can use at home. Through hands-on cooking, nutrition activities and financial literacy challenges, solving problems and gaining confidence.
  • Responsibility: Campers develop responsibility by following kitchen safety rules, handling ingredients carefully, keeping their workspaces organized and participating in clean-up.
