Camp Ak-O-Mak offers a unique and enriching summer experience that emphasizes outdoor education, leadership development, and building a strong community. What makes our program special is the focus on immersing children and teens in nature and outdoor activities, all without technology, fostering a wholesome and genuine connection with the environment.

Children will experience a wide variety of activities designed to develop confidence, independence, and teamwork. These include hiking, biking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and team-building exercises. Additionally, campers can participate in over 25 different sports, trying new activities and mastering skills in a fun, supportive setting.

A typical day begins early with morning activities like swimming, running, yoga, or paddling, followed by a nutritious breakfast. The morning includes three classes—often swimming plus two other sports—that introduce campers to new skills or enhance existing ones. After a delicious lunch and a rest period, campers choose from afternoon activities that depend on the weather, such as group lake paddles, team events, or specialized classes. The day concludes with exciting evening activities like camp-wide games, campfire nights, skits, lip sync and singing at every meal.

Throughout the weeks, campers build lasting friendships, learn values like teamwork and respect, and develop a love for the outdoors and sports. The program is designed to be fun and educational, with takeaways including leadership skills, environmental stewardship, and a greater appreciation for nature.
