Oakwood Academy Summer Camp Teen Social Skills Group (Special Needs)

Oakwood Academy’s Camp Programs are open to currently enrolled students, as well as students from the community who do not regularly attend Oakwood Academy. Oakwood Academy offers theme-based programs for students (5-18 years old). Each theme is taught while working within the Developmental-Individual Difference-Relationship-Based (DIR)® Floortime TM Model and incorporates art, science, sensory, sport, and teamwork games.

GROUP SOCIAL SKILLS & TEEN SOCIAL SKILLS PROGRAMS

The Social Skills Program is offered in both Junior and Senior divisions (students 5-18 years of age). This program is designed for campers who can participate in a group of 6 campers (3:1 camper to instructor ratio) and are looking to target specific group goals including conversation, social problem solving, pretend and fantasy play, understanding and exploring a variety of emotions and perspective taking. Using the DIR®/Floortime Model, our group instructors will create a unique individualized program focusing on increasing each student’s Functional Emotional Developmental Capacities which will support their ability to think, relate, and communicate. Campers in this program will also have the opportunity to attend a field trip in the community.

March Break Camp: March 13 – 17, 2023

Theme: Adventureland

Throughout this camp, your child will use their imagination, creativity, social problem solving and critical thinking skills to work together with their peers in order to participate in themed activities that incorporate themes of science, art, sensory and creativity. Campers will also be going to Legoland for our March Break field trip this year.
