Oakwood Academy Summer Camp Transition (Special Needs)

Oakwood Academy’s Camp Programs are open to currently enrolled students, as well as students from the community who do not regularly attend Oakwood Academy. Oakwood Academy offers theme-based programs for students (3-16 years old). Each theme is taught while working within the Developmental-Individual Difference-Relationship-Based (DIR)® Floortime TM Model and incorporates art, science, sensory, sport, and teamwork games.

1:1 TRANSITION PROGRAM

The 1:1 Transition Program is designed for students 3-16 years of age who benefit from one-on-one support to focus on goals relating to self-regulation, engagement, individual communication, classroom skills, social skills and life skills. Using the DIR®/Floortime TM Model, therapists of this program will develop an individual program plan to meet each camper’s unique learning and sensory profile. Campers in this program will also participate in group social activities with therapist support and have the opportunity to attend a field trip in the community.

March Break Camp: March 13 – 17, 2023

Theme: Adventureland

Throughout this camp, your child will use their imagination, creativity, social problem solving and critical thinking skills to work together with their peers in order to participate in themed activities that incorporate themes of science, art, sensory and creativity. Campers will also be going to Legoland for our March Break field trip this year.
