Prerequisite

Minimum 13 years of age or Bronze Star certification. (need not be current), Swimming skills to aLSS Swim 6 or Seal Star 9 equivalent.

Candidate Recognition

Bronze Medallion award crest, medal and certification card (valid 24 months).

Materials

The Canadian Lifesaving Manual, a pocket mask, and training first aid kit are included with course registration

Bronze Medallion Course

Focuses on mental and physical challenges.
Emphasizes judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness.
Teaches assessment and problem-solving skills for water safety.
Covers various rescue techniques for conscious and unconscious victims.
Includes a 400-meter timed swim in under 12 minutes.
Requires a Love to Swim 10 level or equivalent swimming proficiency.
Serves as a prerequisite for the Bronze Cross award.

Emergency First Aid Certification

Provides general knowledge of first aid principles.
Aims to increase confidence in managing emergency situations.
Focuses on common injuries and shock management.
Covers recognition and response to cardiovascular emergencies including CPR, Choking, Heart Attack, Stroke, and External Bleeding for all ages.
Serves as a prerequisite for the Bronze Cross award
