Step into the Engineering Society, a community designed to spark curiosity, imagination, and problem-solving in girls! Over four hands-on days, participants explore a variety of STEM topics and apply their learning to a central project: designing and building their own games and interactive experiences. Using the Engineering Design Process, participants will brainstorm, prototype, and test ideas—thinking and problem-solving like engineers while expressing their creativity through coding, design, and teamwork.
Guided by enthusiastic women mentors, participants will code in Scratch, explore beginner Python, experiment with AI tools for storytelling and gameplay, and build custom controllers using Makey Makey kits. Along the way, they’ll discuss ethical technology use, digital balance, and how girls can make an impact in fields traditionally dominated by men.
The week concludes with a showcase where participants present their games, celebrate their innovations, and experience the excitement of friendly, hands-on challenges with peers. By the end of the program, participants will gain confidence, sharpen problem-solving skills, and see how engineering and game design can be used to create, inspire, and innovate—while connecting with a community of like-minded young engineers.
This program features the same content as the Summer 2025 Engineering Our Society Camp.
