What do kids learn in robotics classes?

A full curriculum awaits kids in robotics classes, as students learn to design, program, and engineer robots to move and act. During classes, kids become comfortable with popular programming languages such as Arduino and VEX. LEGO is also employed in robotics classes. With its own motors and machines, LEGO robotics is designed specifically for young children.

Early robotics training introduces the fundamentals of programming, such as coding loops and conditional statements. Some beginner programs educate children on machinery, as they learn about motors, energy, and simple machines. Children learn to problem-solve, manage their time, and work independently to create robots. Programs are available for as low as $40, while more intensive programs start at $450.

    About advanced robotics classes

Advanced robotics classes dive deeper into the real-life applications of robotic engineering. Robots were manufactured for one purpose: to assist with human living. In robotics classes, children learn to apply their education to program projects that are useful and, of course, fun! These advanced courses also include intensive hands-on instruction from teachers.

Advanced classes aim to challenge students. In fact, some programs include competitions on regional, national, or global scales. At these competitions, children meet other young robotic enthusiasts while showing off their robots. This is a great opportunity for kids to meet robotics, computer science, and engineering professionals.

Why enroll in robotics for kids?

Robotics programs help kids focus on the future of technology. Here are some other things children can expect from their classes:

    • Math made fun. With engineering and programming activities integrated into robotics programs, children learn how to think analytically. Problem solving and strategy are skills learned in class, making math activities more fun for kids.
    • Exposure. Through challenges and tournaments, kids are exposed to the professional robotics industry. These can inspire children’s future interest in robotics.
    • Inspires STEAM exploration. Robotics is a great way for kids to practice the STEAM structure that integrates technology with design. Kids are inspired to pursue different avenues of STEAM, such as electricity or science, more directly.
    • Personalized instruction is available in all robotics programs due to small class sizes. Most activities are often a mix between individual and collaborative work, yet children receive personal feedback with which they can improve their individual robotics skills.
