COURSE DESCRIPTION 
The Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor course prepares the candidates with acquire 
proven teaching methods, a variety of stroke development drills and correction techniques. 
Candidates will be certified to teach the Lifesaving Society’s Swim for Life program which 
includes Parent and Tot, Preschool, Swimmer, Adult, and Fitness. 

PREREQUISITES 
15 years of age and Bronze Cross (need not to be current) 

REQUIRED MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT 
The required materials for this course is the Swim 
Instructor Pack, which includes: 
▶ Instructor Manual 
▶ Swim for Life Award Guide 
▶ Teaching Swim for Life Manual


Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Interpersonal skills: Learning to teach, explain, coach as well as understand the feedback loop with various ages.
  • Responsibility: Preparing to be responsible for multiple students of varying degrees of swimming ability.
