The Our Kids review of Indus Space

    our take

Founded by Planetary Scientist and Canadian Space Ambassador, Bhairavi Shankar, Indus Space is just really cool. Providing the most advanced space exploration learning platform for kids, they offer workshops, camps, and public events. What’s unique about Indus Space is that it brings important current topics to the forefront, while still engaging kids in learning and fun. Real-life examples are often used and kids learn about the best and the brightest in the field of space exploration. As a woman of colour, Shankar is also hoping to highlight the lack of diversity, especially at the leadership level, in this field, and how we can push to change this. Not just an after-school program, Indus Space is working on U.N. Sustainable Development Goals for building a better future, including quality education, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, and reduced inequalities. All kids in this program, no matter what gender or race, come out of the program believing they can be an astronaut or scientist.

Junior Explorers In Person Summer Camp

My 7 year old went to Indus space camp in July and he had such a wonderful experience. The week was fully packed with excellent learning activities and crafts and the teacher and assistant were wonderful and very educated on the topics. My son was so happy from his experience and said he learned lots! He also has allergies and learning differences, the staff were great to accommodate everything for him. I will definitely be signing him up again and would recommend this program to anyone with a child interested in space ... Show More

Junior All About Space Virtual Camp

All About Space camp offered such a great interactive, hands-on and engaging experience to students passionate about space and science. The week-long virtual camp provided a series of activities focusing on space collisions, eruptions, coding and engineering that students could complete at home using familiar household items which made it so easy for parents to provide and for students to use. As a parent, I was very impressed with the ingenuity of introducing new concepts to kids and help them discover and understand the science behind all the experiments and how they relate to real life conditions. Excellent opportunity and highly recommended camp! ... Show More

Summer Virtual Camp - Moon Themed

I learned a lot of new things, like for example TinkerCad and how to use it and I really had a fun time…I enjoyed the presenting and instructions but mostly building my base cause that was very fun, going onto it and building stuff. I would show that to my friends and everyone cause we’re learning science and maybe we could do stuff like that in my own school. I would be very excited having one more time doing the same things with you guys. I wanted to thank all the instructors for putting this together, it was really fun and I learned a lot of stuff. ...
