In this active, experiential summer program, campers will get their hands dirty and become gardeners, farmers, conservationists, biodiversity experts and food justice leaders using their school garden as a center for learning.

Highlights include:

  • Growing vegetables and herbs.
  • Planting wildflowers for pollinators.
  • Learning about planting crops important to diverse cultures.
  • Managing and maintaining a composter.
  • Making terrarium habitats.
  • Creating eco-crafts and public space art.
  • Writing a community cookbook.
  • Developing leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Hands-on workshops on urban agriculture, sustainability, conservations, food systems and security, climate change and health and wellness.
  • Service-learning projects benefitting the school and community at large.

Campers will come away with 21st century skills and qualities including collaboration, communication, growth mindset, creativity, problem-solving, initiative and leadership, as well as a deeper sense of community, environmental stewardship and local and global citizenship.

Lunch is included for all summer camp registrations. Our dining room provides healthy and delicious meals with a variety of choices. Special dietary needs are supported by our Food Services team.
