We know there’s a lot going on during the week. That’s why we offer kids the chance to adventure out on weekends! Once a month, the Weekend Wanderers – children’s outdoor nature program – explore forgotten areas of the forest, sing songs by the fire, play games that use all our senses, and more. By spending time outside over three seasons, kids learn how to creatively solve problems, find confidence in their unique skills, and build deep connections to nature and community.

This is a year-round children's outdoor program in Toronto with 9 sessions. Sessions occur on a monthly basis and run on the following dates (Sat/Sun):

Weekend Wanderers EAST END (Stan Wadlow) Dates:
October 3-4, November 7-8, November 28-29, January 9-10, February 6-7, March 6-7, April 10-11, May 1-2, May 29-30

Weekend Wanderers WEST END (King's Mill) Dates:
October 24-25, November 14-15, December 5-6, January 23-24, February 20-21, April 3-4, April 24-25, May 15-16, June 5-6

Run Wild is part of Pine’s Outdoor School, where nature is the classroom and the ultimate teacher. Programs run 100% outdoors, rain or shine, encouraging curiosity, creativity, resilience and a deep love of nature. Children leave feeling energized, grounded, and excited to learn. Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Curiosity: We nurture curiosity by encouraging kids to explore the forest, observe wildlife, and ask questions about the natural world. Our mentors guide children to follow their interests, sparking wonder and a life-long love of learning.
  • Resilience: Run Wild helps kids build resilience by embracing outdoor adventures in all weather, tackling challenges like shelter-building, and learning to adapt and problem-solve in nature—all while feeling safe and supported.
