At Pine’s Outdoor School, kids spend regular time outside with caring mentors throughout the seasons. Through exploration, play and hands-on learning, they grow in confidence and resilience, form lasting friendships, and develop a deep love of the natural world. They also develop real-world skills that support classroom learning—from curiosity and focus to teamwork, creativity and environmental awareness.

Our caring mentors foster curiosity, confidence, resilience, and community, guiding kids and youth to unplug, explore, and connect deeply with nature.

We offer weekly, monthly, and seasonal programs for children, youth, and families at various Toronto and out-of-city locations. Below is an overview of our weekly programs. Please see our other sessions for weekly after-school programs, monthly weekend programs, and LIT programs and Wilderness Excursions for teens!

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Resilience: At Pine, we see challenges as growth opportunities. Kids learn to adapt, problem-solve, and persevere outdoors, whether it’s navigating trails, building shelters, or embracing all-weather adventures in a safe, supportive community.
  • Curiosity: We spark curiosity by guiding kids to explore forests, observe wildlife, and ask questions. Mentors encourage children to follow their interests, fostering wonder, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning through hands-on outdoor experiences.
