Special interests. Shared adventures. Endless discovery.

Silver Lake Specialty Camps offer themed experiences that dive deep into passions like boating, music, food & garden, woodworking, or sports—tailored for campers eager to explore what they love. What makes them special is the perfect blend of focused learning and classic camp fun, helping kids build confidence and creativity in a supportive community.

Boating Camp:  In addition to a wide variety of camp activities, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and stand-up-paddling are all part of boating camp.  Have fun at the waterfront and learn boating skills!

Music Camp:  In addition to a wide variety of camp activities, come to camp for an amazing musical experience!  Led by two musical staff, this camp will focus on making music together with a group of likeminded campers who love music.  No musical expertise required and all instruments are welcome. Camp has a keyboard, ukuleles, a guitar and a washboard for use. By the end of the week campers will have recorded a song as a lasting memory of this creative, fun-filled camp!

Food & Garden Camp: Campers will spend half the day participating a wide variety of familiar camp activities with campers from all chosen specialties. During their specialty sessions, Food & Garden campers will explore the SLMC garden and other delicacies growing on site, and use the delicious produce in some kitchen adventures.

Woodworking Camp: This year’s Woodworking campers will design, create, and take home their own handmade canoe paddle! This camp has an additional $60 cost for materials and instruction, as campers go from carving, to decorating, to finishing their water-worthy piece. Campers will also participate in a wide variety of familiar camp activities with campers from all chosen specialties and then be led by qualified volunteers & staff in their project.

Sports Camp: For campers who like ball sports:  basketball, volleyball, tether ball, gaga ball and soccer. Campers also participate in all camp has to offer including canoeing, crafts, kayaking, low ropes course, nature, archery, Quest, field games and worship/campfire.

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Creativity: Campers spark creativity in Specialty Camps through themed hands-on projects, arts, and exploration. They experiment with new materials, express ideas freely, and collaborate on unique creations, building imagination and innovative thinking in a fun, supportive space.
  • Interpersonal skills: Campers develop interpersonal skills in Specialty Camps through collaborative projects, group challenges, and shared creative spaces. They practice communication, teamwork, and empathy while supporting each other's ideas and contributions, building stronger friendships and social confidence.
