Learn the skills required to become a Counsellor in Training during Ontario Tech's 2026 Summer Camps. Participants will receive instruction in various Ontario Tech summer camp activities. This will include team building activities, expectations as a CIT, and how to be a helpful assistant to the camp counsellors. Activities also include a review of professionalism in the workplace, how to write a cover letter and resume, and how to take initiative. After the successful completion of this training session, attendees will have the opportunity to volunteer for 2026 camp programming at Ontario Tech. Volunteer hours can be applied to the 40-hour community involvement requirement to receive an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). A staff member will sign-off on the earned volunteer hours at the end of the summer! Experience in the Ontario Tech Counsellor in Training program may lead towards a position as a Junior Camp Counsellor in future summer camp programs.
