Who are you as an organization?
HOC offers a big camp experience with a small camp feel. HOC is large enough to provide diversified camp opportunities including our Overnight Ultimate Camp (Traditional Camp Program) and our specialized Overnight Hockey + Camp and Overnight Water Ski Programs. With a small camper-to-staff ratio, we also have the resources to ensure campers and parents feel connected to the camp community and campers specific needs are heard, acknowledged and met. The HOC experience provides campers with the opportunity for improved self-confidence, friendship, individual challenge and skill development – all in a safe and enjoyable camp environment. HOC is truly “THE ULTIMATE HOCKEY AND SUMMER CAMP EXPERIENCE”.
What do you do differently or uniquely well?
"HOC offers a unique experience to all campers which allows any overnight program to bunk in the same cabin as their friends from other programs. "
Who are your staff and counsellors?
"Our tradition of excellence is built upon the strength of our staff. Each staff member brings with them commitment, enthusiasm and compassion for children. All HOC staff training is designed around four core principles: Community, Leadership, Accountability & Performance. Each staff member is trained and evaluated on their delivery of these four principles on a daily basis. This creates a very positive camp atmosphere for our children."
What do families need to know about registration?
"We use a database called Campsite. To begin registration, arents must create an account or login with an existing account. HOC accepts registrations on a first come first serve basis, so register early to guarantee your spot! There are 4 steps to the enrollment process which includes choosing their program/session, enrollment questions, forms, and terms/conditions. Upon completing the enrollment steps, campers registered require a $400 deposit to complete their enrollment. Once your enrollment is submitted, we will confirm the registration in 1 to 3 business days via email. "

Fun, adventure, and team spirit are all on the docket at Hockey Opportunity Camp (HOC). Kids can expect good times and sweaty heads, paired with waterskiing, archery, mountain biking, and, of course, hockey. You don’t have to love hockey to attend—the camp has other programs that don’t include ice time. But for those where hockey is life, HOC offers an elite on-ice summer skills training program combined with the traditional camp experience. Kids don’t have to sacrifice summer camp while keeping their hockey legs, and the escape from the city into the scenic Almaguin Highlands can be magical. Friends can bunk together, no matter what program they’re in, but there are ample opportunities to make new friendships. This big camp has a small camp feel with staff who are trained and invested in making camp a positive experience for all. HOC has a long and storied history starting in 1966, with its start as a sports camp that lower-income parents could afford. The current owners, the McLaughlin family (Kevin McLaughlin was a former camper and counsellor at HOC), strive to keep to the roots of the camp and create camp opportunities for as many kids as possible. They do this by keeping the rates below most other overnight summer sport camps. Kids will not forget their time at HOC, both the skills they learn and the memories they make.

Dear Parents,
I sincerely hope you will consider Hockey Opportunity Camp (HOC) for your son or daughter this summer. Since 1966, the HOC experience has provided campers with the opportunity for improved self-confidence, friendship, individual challenge and improved skill development – all in a safe and enjoyable camp environment.
HOC is a camp for children with a variety of interests; those who play hockey and for those who don't. Offering three main program specialties: Hockey, Ultimate Traditional Camp and Water Skiing, campers can choose what they are most interested in, yet bunk and spend time with friends who are enrolled in a different specialty program. HOC is a camp for everyone.
By offering one-week camp sessions and being located only three hours north of Toronto, campers can enjoy a beautiful northern Ontario camp experience without the fear of being away from home for too long. Staff and campers from all over the world attend HOC, creating a diverse and inclusive camp environment.
HOC is the “The Ultimate Hockey And Summer Camp Experience”. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns about your child's stay with us this summer.
