Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

Resilience: There are few activities that build resilience better than canoe tripping. There are the physical challenges of paddling and portaging, the mental challenges of overcoming the discomforts of outdoor travel, and the social challenges of navigating group dynamics towards a shared goal.
Independence: At Pathfinder, boys are challenged to discover what they can do, and what they can do without. Parents often report that boys return home with a newfound sense of assuredness about their place in the world and a determination to manage their own affairs throughout their daily and weekly routines.
