(5) Overall experience

Before attending the program, my children were a bit nervous and unsure about what to expect. They expressed curiosity but also hesitation about trying this math course. During the program, I noticed that they became more engaged, and the level of math and reasoning enhanced significantly. After each year, my children were excited to share their experiences and accomplishments. We could see significant improvement and differences when compared to their colleagues in school. My elder wanted to enroll in the senior 2 as well, and he was looking for it.

(5) Reason for choosing the program

We were drawn to this program because it offered a good combination of math, logical reasoning, spatial recognition, and other things: The kind of challenge that my kids needed in order to grow their brains. It reminded us of old school discipline, yet with a modern approach and practical applications. None of the other programs offered this. The ROI of the course was worth it, and there were no hidden costs at all. Brainpower was very professional and valued recurring customers.

(5) Program quality and activities

The program itinerary aligned very well with my child’s interests. The program also exceeded my expectations in terms of content and its positive impact on my children. There were many subjects that my boys enjoyed, each differently. One enjoyed the logic riddles more, one the quadratic equations, and so on. Brainpower kept improving the program through issuing proper books. They also asked for feedback on a regular basis and allowed for touchpoints and workshops with parents.

(5) Social dynamics and experience

My children developed new friends across the few campuses of Brainpower. Some of them carried from one campus to another, whereas others were campus-based. There were no bullying or issues related to inclusion at all. The way the course or lessons were run, there was very little potential for such conflict or bullying. Instructors were attentive to this, and no incident occurred with us.

(5) Skills and growth

My children have gained a strong understanding of advanced math concepts beyond their grade level. The program has also significantly boosted their confidence, encouraging them to embrace challenges as opportunities for learning. Additionally, they have developed a richer vocabulary, which they now use as a valuable tool in their thinking and communication. Overall, they are consistently working above the standard school curriculum and feel prepared and motivated to take on new challenges.

(4.5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors

The administration and staff were very supportive, prompt, and professional. They do understand the needs of the parents and are accommodating. They also gave my eldest child an opportunity to volunteer and work with Brainpower. The communication from the instructors is excellent. I know exactly what my boys are doing and what is next, etc. My eldest this year has also chosen to take the senior 2 class and was exposed to some important philosophical concepts that enriched his level of thinking, his vocab and communication. Every instructor has their own way of teaching. All have been great. One that taught my boys for one year had some room for improvement and did not fully align with how Brainpower approaches learning.

(5) Advice and tips

I would encourage anyone who would like to see their kids develop to engage in this program. Recommendation to BrainPower: Add science, physics, and maybe chemistry. Make students more inquisitive about science. I know the main branch in Vaughan, but I would like to see some more courses in the west end similar to Vaughan. Nothing comes to mind about knowing specific items before joining the program.
