(5) Overall experience

My daughter was nervous about math and being in a class where she didn't know anyone, but the instructors made her feel super comfortable. That really helped her get comfortable in the class, and it boosted her confidence in participating. This experience that my daughter had with Brain Power allowed her to be more confident in her regular class as well - her teacher saw her participate more and take initiative to help other students rather than being shy about the subject matter.

(5) Reason for choosing the program

The level of rigour in the program and the breadth of the subject area is why I chose this program over others. I found it to be a great investment of my time and money - there were no hidden costs at all - I paid only what I agreed to at the contract at inception.

(5) Program quality and activities

The teacher spent extra time with my daughter on areas she had difficulty with by doing booster sessions. That was invaluable! I also appreciated that the program was very clearly defined up front, by lesson, including any days off. We had a calendar that we worked with that recognized school holidays, long weekends, March break, etc., allowing us to plan our personal life and days off.

(5) Social dynamics and experience

Both my kids made friends in the class with other students - the students are all so eager to learn and they found commonalities almost immediately! There were absolutely no issues regarding bullying or inclusion. The students are really there to learn and are all well-behaved. The teachers are engaged, so there is no opportunity for any bullying to occur.

(5) Skills and growth

For both math and language, I saw tremendous improvements for my kids - they learned the concepts, they enhanced their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and were able to apply the materials learned in their regular school as well. In fact, I found that after a few sessions, their confidence shot up in the area, and they applied it in their regular school right away.

(5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors

The staff is exceptional - from the administrative staff that is behind the scenes to the teachers that are in the classroom - they are all working together to provide a wonderful learning environment for the students. The goal is clear: They all want the students to learn, get better at the concepts, and succeed in their school life, and it truly shows.

(5) Advice and tips

I would ask that they pick up the phone and ask the administrative staff questions if they are not sure about the program and its fit for their child. The staff are so helpful and answer questions without being pushy. They provide counsel and advice by understanding what the student/parent is trying to achieve. I walked away with information that allowed me to make decisions that are best for my children.
