    Adventure Valley answered our questions

Who are you as an organization?

Oakville's best premium summer day camp! Our fees include bussing, snacks, lunch and the best camp spirit Oakville has ever seen! We go beyond summer fun to provide experiences that foster growth and develop the whole child. Our campers enjoy a wide breadth of activities that change daily. Choose to be a part of something special! You BELONG at Adventure Valley!

    • Special needs: Yes, mild support.
A few of our campers have special needs.

What do you do differently or uniquely well?

"Adventure Valley is unique in how we approach camp: we are first and foremost, a community. We purposefully develop a sense of belonging in all of our campers, their parents, and our staff. And, it doesn't just stop at summer! We run community events year-round to upkeep our connections and friendships. Having a community is important to us because it is only when a child feels safe and loved that they can truly learn and grow. Our mission is to grow great kids, with the life skills they need for their future, like leadership, compassion, perseverance and confidence. "

Who are your staff and counsellors?

"Adventure Valley recognizes the importance of strong summer staff in the delivery of an unforgettable summer camp experience. It’s our staff, who cultivate cooperation, kindness, and friendship, who build the foundation of a strong camp community.

As a team, our staff continues to challenge itself: how can we make each day unforgettable? How can we bring our campers closer together? We know we’ve done our job if our campers never want the day to end, never want the summer to be over, never want to lose the feeling they belong – just the way they are.

We treat our staff like family and support each other all day, every day. We know that our staff, more than any other single factor, make AV the incredible camp that it is."

What do families need to know about registration?

"Welcome to Adventure Valley! One of our main values is that planning for summer should be EASY - and boy, do we deliver! Our fees are all-inclusive: every registration includes two snacks, a hot lunch, and bussing from one of our convenient neighbourhood stops. Our registration is quick and easy, with only a deposit ($300/child) needed to confirm your child's spot at camp. The balance of our fees are due by May 1, and families can choose to pay monthly or in one lump sum.

Cancellation or changes are easy with the best policy in the industry: Cancel or change your child's sessions with no penalties up to seven (yes, 7!) days before your session start date!"

    COVID-19 Response

After two successful summers of running in-person day camps during COVID-19, we are confident we can deliver a safe a fun program for our camp community. For the Summer of 2022, all staff must provide proof of vaccination prior to the start of the Camp Season. Other health and safety policies and procedures during the Summer of 2022 will include cleaning and disinfecting of all camp facilities, PPE use where appropriate and masking as per government requirements.

Camp Covid Policies will always adhere to the latest Ministry of Health mandates and requirements as a minimum standard. Our policies will be flexible and updated as the situation and regulations change.

The Our Kids review of Adventure Valley

    our take

Adventure Valley provides a true camp experience with the benefit of being close to home. The variety of programs is broad, including all the most traditional camp experiences, though the sense of community is as well--kids have a sense that they belong to something unique, and it is. The camp is run on the campus of St. Mildred's Lightbourn School, which is exceptional in all the best ways: facilities, location, and accessability. Lunch is included with camp fees, which might seem like a little thing, but, frankly, for busy parents, it's a delight. The program is very established, with strong staff who dedicate themselves to the culture of the camp as well as the activities offered.

"Your children will be welcomed into the Adventure Valley family with open arms"
    Jules Rose (Parent)

AVDC has been an enormous part of our family for the past 5 years & has played an integral role in helping to teach both of our young children to be adventurous, curious, kind, silly, creative & fun. We are truly devastated to learn that the relocation of the camp will unfortunately be too far for our children to attend going forward, as it truly is a unique & special place...with amazing staff, who truly care. To those fortunate enough to live in the vicinity of Burlington, Milton, Etobicoke, Mississauga and Oakville, you are blessed to gain such a wonderful gem of a camp. Your children will be welcomed into the Adventure Valley family with open arms, & experience what our children were so lucky to have. Wishing AVDC the best of luck...we will be with you in spirit! ❤ ... Read More

"The staff is exceptional, kind, understanding and caring"
    Evie Levitin (Parent)

Adventure Valley Day Camp is absolutely incredible! My kids have been going there for 3 years now and to say they love it is an understatement. The experience, fun, excitement, and pure joy my kids felt everyday was unbelievable. They couldn’t wait to get up in the morning to go to camp and loved Sunday’s because it meant Monday was a new week at camp. They talk about their camp experiences, friends, counsellors, and activities ALL YEAR LONG, and count down to a new camp season every spring. My kids absolutely flourished there every summer. Every day they came home beaming with joy, full of amazing stories to tell us at dinner. The staff is exceptional, kind, understanding and caring. I recommend AVDC for everyone looking to send their kids to camp this summer. If I could give more than 5 stars I would ... Read More

"The smiles and laughter are instantaneous"
    Marc Joffe (Parent)

Our children have been going to Adventure Valley for several years, and love every day. AV has excellent facilities with a wide variety of activities, access to beautiful outdoor spaces, and indoor spaces for those rainy days. As an added bonus, the location doesn't require a long ride north to attain the facilities. But none of this is what makes AV special. AV's greatest strength is its people. The great people start at the top, with caring management that goes above and beyond to make sure each camper has a fantastic summer. This attitude filters down to their carefully selected staff who go all out each day to make camp fun. We are reminded about the great team each year on welcome night. When our children arrive at camp, they run in every direction to high-five and hug all of their old counselors who they missed all school year. The smiles and laughter are instantaneous, and we know that a great summer is around the corner ... Read More

    Director's Message

    Ashlee Woolfson, Camp Director

Welcome to our small and family style camp! I believe camp should be a place where every child feels secure and appreciated for who they are.

We go beyond summer fun to provide experiences that foster growth and develop the whole child. We focus on building life skills, like confidence, determination, kindness, and positivity.

We embed our values of trust, community, fun and curiosity into everything we do. We go where our campers can discover new experiences in a safe environment, giving them the freedom to explore who they really are, play in an inclusive zone, and find out what it means to be a friend.

And we always go to a place where campers are embraced by the spirit and values of our camp community.
