March Break Science Camp returns in-person to York University from March 16-20, 2026!
Camps are developed by undergraduate/graduate science or engineering students, Teacher Candidates, or Ontario Certified Teachers and taught by our team of Junior Instructors. In-person day camp programs are from 9am to 4pm from Monday to Friday. Each session will allow participants to be involved in hands-on activities and meet other like-minded students with a passion for science.
Students are split into different age groups: Junior (grades 3/4), Intermediate (grades 5/6), and Senior (grades 7/8).
Each day, participants will be immersed in a variety of exciting and unique activities and experiments exploring elements of Science and Engineering.
Junior Science & Engineering (Grade 3/4)
Time: 9:00am to 4:00pm || Course Fee: $395.00 || Before and After-Care Available at Keele
Junior Scientists will dive into hands-on experiments and imaginative engineering challenges! From launching their own high-flying bottle rockets to building working skeletal hands that reveal the science of movement, campers will step into the role of real inventors. They’ll also explore the world of circuits and creativity by designing a custom game controller using Makey Makey technology. With engaging projects and interactive experiments, campers will spark curiosity, strengthen problem‑solving skills, and uncover the wonders of how science brings ideas to life.
Intermediate Science & Engineering (Grade 5/6)
Time: 9:00am to 4:00pm || Course Fee: $395.00 || Before and After-Care Available at Keele
In this action‑packed camp, Intermediate Scientists will dive into thrilling hands‑on experiments and real‑world engineering challenges! This year, campers will extract DNA to uncover the building blocks of life, design and test water filtration systems to explore environmental science, and engineer protective devices for an exciting egg drop challenge that puts problem‑solving and creativity to the test. Through dynamic projects and engaging investigations, students will deepen their understanding of STEM concepts while having loads of fun!
Senior Science & Engineering (Grade 7/8)
Time: 9:00am to 4:00pm || Course Fee: $395.00 || Before and After-Care Available at Keele
In this exciting camp, Senior Scientists will immerse themselves in hands‑on investigations that bring advanced STEM concepts to life! This year, campers will explore reaction kinetics through the dramatic Iodine Clock Reaction, develop essential lab skills with an introduction to microscopy, and dive into anatomy with a detailed dissection to better understand biological structures. Filled with experimentation, discovery, and scientific inquiry, this camp is perfect for curious minds eager to deepen their understanding of science in a fun and engaging way!
