The following is this year's March Break Workshop Schedule:

Monday, March 12:

Planetarium Workshop:

Students will experience a breathtaking view of the universe inside a planetarium.  As students gaze deep into the galaxy, an expert astronomer will tell stories of star myths, as well as tales of space travelers and the latest discoveries.  Students will be split into two groups to benefit from grade-appropriate education in subjects pertaining to our fascinating universe.

Tuesday, March 13:

Art Workshop:

Inspired by the Regio Emilia pedagogical approach, this innovative and educational visual arts program is designed to help children develop self-awareness, critical thinking, visual literacy, and problem-solving skills. Students will learn about art history, colour theory, and have fun on the canvas.  Each student will get to bring home their canvas masterpiece.

Wednesday, March 14:

Exotic Animal Workshop:

Students will engage in an immersive, hands-on learning experience as they observe a variety of exotic animals in a safe and controlled environment. Students will participate in grade-appropriate workshops to learn about animal biology, feeding habits, habitats, ecosystems, and conservation.  We look forward to welcoming some exciting new animal guests, this year.

Thursday, March 15:

Magic Workshop:

Through interactive magic, students will experience a show that will not only mystify, but also demonstrate the socioemotional advantages in using magic as a form of self-expression.

Friday, March 16:

House Olympics:

On Friday, students will work with their fellow house-members to compete against the other house teams in a series of academic and athletic tournaments; tournaments will be tailored to the respective abilities of lower and higher grade groups. These challenges are aimed to develop leadership, effective communication and inclusive teamwork skills.  There will be points and rewards awarded to teams for winning tournaments.  Points will also be awarded and deducted based on interpersonal conscientiousness and dedication in participation.  The team with the most points will win the SLI House Cup.

As our students receive priority placement in workshops, guest spots are limited.  Email us at [email protected] to inquire about workshop availability, attaching a complete copy of the registration and waiver form.
