Python is one of the most popular programming languages in the world, used by scientists, engineers, hobbyists, and everyone in between! Participants will be introduced to the basic concepts of the Python programming language by completing fun coding challenges! This basic knowledge will prepare them for any future coding classes or coding languages they want to learn. No coding experience is required!

Activity example: Item Sorting - Participants will be tasked with sorting items based on certain factors, using a pre-built robot. Participant groups will compete to have the most accurate sorting!


Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Curiosity: Participants will be introduced to the basic concepts of the Python programming language by completing fun coding challenges!
  • Interpersonal skills: Participants will have the opportunity to meet Ontario Tech University software engineering students and engineering industry professionals.
