We are thrilled to be able to offer our programming for Summer 2022! By working closely with Provincial Camping Associations in conjunction with Public Health, we are able to provide a fun camp experience while adhering to all COVID-19 measures. While maintaining physically distancing (masking when not possible), frequent cleaning and handwashing, and contact tracing, were able to successfully run 2021 without any COVID cases and aim to have the same result in 2022.
Vaccine Policy - Our organization adheres to all LOCAL and PROVINCIAL guidelines as they pertain to vaccines, vaccine mandates, and providing proof of vaccination by any staff, volunteers and camp participants.

Love that half day is an option. Then my son liked it so much he wanted to join in on the full day, and we appreciated that it was swimming - something different. Staff were very friendly and positive and made my son feel ... Read More

My son really, really enjoyed this camp. Grateful that he had a fun place to go that was engaging and active with a great group of staff that interacted with the kids in such a positive way.
Jeff Bryer, Program Director
With this summer being our 30th year of running summer camps for youth, I can’t help but to reflect on the thousands of memories we’ve created over the years. With such a difficult couple of years for everyone due to COVID-19, I am surely looking forward to providing an amazing summer for so many children across Canada.
We are continuing to strive for hosting the best possible experience for your child. Here at Royal City, we take pride in the reputation we have built for nearly 3 decades. It is important to us that every camper receives an engaging, encouraging, and caring experience at our programs. Our staff are passionate, responsible, and committed to ensuring your experience is a positive one.
We also have fantastic opportunities for volunteers, typically 14 or 15 years old, to participate in our camps. Many of our volunteers are past campers and wish to continue their learning adventure in a different capacity. Often, many of our volunteers return to become camp counselors and supervisors at our camps. It is also a great opportunity for volunteers to provide several hours of community service on their journey to developing their skills. Volunteers have become an important part of our program as campers look to them as role models.
As the Camp Founder and Program Director at Royal City, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing so many happy faces on campers…and our staff. My heart is filled with pride when I receive notes of appreciation from families across the country telling me how much they enjoyed our program. I’m also very proud that we’ve been able to provide fantastic employment opportunities for thousands of students and young adults over the years. While some of our staff are professional teachers, others, simply by working at our camps, have been inspired to pursue a career in childcare and development.
I encourage you to explore our website, watch a few videos and learn more about our ‘Royal’ experience. I am truly proud of our reputation as a destination for thousands of children each year and look forward to welcoming your family to the Royal City community.
Our FULL DAY SESSIONS are the most popular but have limited capacity. Full day sessions combine the soccer focus in the morning sessions (daily warm up, individual skill development, fun team games, soccer scrimmages and mini-Royal Cups), with an afternoon session full of more traditional camp games and a possible recreational swim (where available).
Morning sessions are taught in an average group ratio of 10 campers to 1 staff member (younger campers will have smaller ratios) while afternoon sessions consist of a much smaller supervision ratio, especially in the pool. During the afternoon portion, campers will play various camp games and enjoy a leisure swim at the nearby pool for approximately an hour (some locations may not swim every day). During the afternoon leisure swim, our campers are fully supervised by camp staff and pool lifeguards in accordance with the ratios and regulations.
Please note:
Programming for full day sessions is subject to change depending on Public Health recommendations and restrictions.
Our morning sessions are geared towards campers/families who just want a half day program and prefer a soccer focus. These sessions consist primarily of learning and playing soccer including: a daily warm up, individual skill development, fun team games, soccer scrimmages and mini-Royal Cups. These morning sessions are coached and supervised by our staff in an approximately 10 campers to 1 staff member environment (younger campers will have smaller ratios). Campers are grouped and coached by age, size and ability where possible.
All children aged 5 to 13 of any skill level, from never playing before to competitive rep players, are welcome to register. For older competitive rep players, please contact us regarding your soccer expectations at camp.
We recognize that many of our campers attend for multiple weeks of camp, we accommodate this by introducing weekly themes and vary up the games and skill exercises. Morning sessions run from 9am to 12noon with drop off from 8:30-9am and pick up from 12-12:30pm (extended care hours available for purchase).
Programming for morning sessions is subject to change depending on Public Health recommendations and restrictions.
Every afternoon, we beat the heat by splashing around in our nearby pool for a couple of hours. This is the time for unstructured play with new camp friends and staff. The pool lifeguarding staff, as well as, our own staff supervise all swims.
The enthusiasm of all the staff created a very welcoming environment for my son. It was well organized and friendly. I will definitely enroll my son in future years. Thank you for all the great work!
My children love this camp! After attending a week of half days, they both asked to go back for another week, of full days. The counsellors have a great rapport with the children and are very enthusiastic. Both boys enjoyed the soccer emphasis. Keep up the great work!
My daughter continues to love this camp. She has learned useful soccer skills, has made new friends, really respects and likes the staff and enjoys the variety of activities, especially swimming in the hot afternoon. Continue to have this excellent program and keep up your great work!
