Funky food fun is on the menu at NPCC, and our young artists are in for a treat! In this imaginative camp, kids explore the playful intersection of visual art and the foods they love, where artistic style becomes the “recipe” and creativity is the main ingredient. Campers might whisk up a whimsical Van Gogh-inspired veggie bowl, build a bold geometric snack platter in the spirit of Mondrian, or design a dreamy dessert landscape influenced by O’Keeffe’s organic shapes. From zesty clay sculptures to refreshing watercolour “mocktails”, each project blends art history with culinary charm in a way that sparks curiosity and laughter. Throughout the day, students will strengthen skills in colour theory, composition, observation, and texture-building, all while experimenting with new materials and techniques. With support from NPCC’s skilled instructors and counsellors, young creators will craft both useful items and frame-worthy masterpieces they’ll be excited to share. By the time they head home, they’ll be well-done and ready for an all-you-can-sleep course. Projects are tuned to each age group (5-7, 7-9, 8-12) and all materials are included!

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Interpersonal skills: Through shared creative experiences, students learn to express their ideas, listen to others, and provide constructive feedback. Collaborative projects promote teamwork, encouraging students to work together.
  • Creativity: As an arts organization, NPCC provides a space where creative curiosity is encouraged and participants get to experience the benefits of trying new ideas and techniques in the artwork they create.
