This is a drawing fundamentals class. Participants learn to draw portraits, still life, people wearing various types of clothing, animals, and landscape, while developing skills in shading, perspective, light source and observation. Understanding how to look at a reference allows for better planning as students consider composition and effective use of space in their artwork. This is a class for 8 to 12-year-old children who really want to get better at drawing or develop their beginner skills. Nima will teach with references and will assist with step-by-step instruction while allowing students to explore a list of subjects and categories to ensure a good variety of practice, and an understanding of process. All materials are included.

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Creativity: As an arts organization, NPCC provides a space where creative curiosity is encouraged, and participants get to experience the benefits of trying new ideas and techniques in the artwork they create.
  • Interpersonal skills: Through shared creative experiences, students learn to express their ideas, listen to others, and provide constructive feedback. Collaborative projects promote teamwork, encouraging students to work together.
