The Martlet and Redbird Academy of Sport is designed for children 8-12 years of age. Rather than the traditional multi-sport camp, participants will concentrate on two sports for the given week. The combination of sports will be designed so that there is one indoor sport and one outdoor sport. Campers will receive instruction and guidance for half a day in each sport.
The program is designed by the top coaches in Canadian university sport - the head coaches of McGill’s varsity teams, and led by McGill student-athletes, as well as students at the university.
Here are some of the measures being implemented this summer: -Reduced number of children per week at camp -Upon arrival in the morning, campers pass through our triage station -Frequent hand washing and sanitizing will take place during the day. At minimum – prior to entering the facility in the -morning, upon entering a new venue during the day, before and after lunch. -Each sport will have dedicated indoor and outdoor spaces to minimize travel through the facility -Modified activities to incorporate social distancing measures -Increased sanitizing of equipment and touch points throughout the facility -Campers cannot change groups/sports once a week has begunView recent COVID-19 updates from McGill Sports Camp
