Leaside Volleyball Club, was founded in 2008 by John Child, a 3-time Olympian and Olympic Bronze Medalist in Beach Volleyball. After a distinguished 15-year career in professional beach volleyball, John created the club to share his love for the sport with the next generation of athletes. Serving Toronto & the GTA, Leaside Volleyball Club is recognized as one of Canada’s top volleyball clubs, offering both indoor and beach volleyball programs for all ages and skill levels. It may sound a bit cliché, but what truly sets Leaside Volleyball Club apart as one of Canada’s top volleyball clubs is our people. From our dedicated, accomplished, and passionate coaching staff to our efficient and supportive administration team, we take pride in the exceptional individuals who make our club what it is. Many of our coaches are former Leaside athletes who have played at the post-secondary, professional, or even Team Canada level. They return to the club not only because they know the unique community culture, but because they want to give back to the next generation of players. The long tenure of our coaches and the large number of athletes who return year after year are a testament to the quality of our programs.

Registering for our programs is quick and easy! Simply follow the links on our website to sign up. A quick heads-up—some programs fill up fast, so we recommend registering early. Payment is usually due a few weeks before the program start date. Tryouts for our competitive teams are held in early September each year, following the Ontario Volleyball Association’s Tryout Policies. Leaside Volleyball Club boasts a talented and passionate coaching staff. Our team includes former club, varsity, and NCAA athletes, as well as those who have played and coached with Team Ontario and National Team programs. Many are fully certified through the NCCP and Ontario Coaches system, ensuring exceptional training. A number of our alumni have returned after their playing careers to give back, sharing their knowledge and love for the game. Through competitive club teams, house league, skills clinics and beach programs, our coaches inspire athletes to develop their skills, embrace the sport, and reach their full potential on and off the court.
