In this five-day program, students will spend half of the day engaging in hands-on academic activities designed to re-engage important academic skills and knowledge that will support a successful entry to Grade 9. For the other half of the day, they will enjoy traditional camp activities and fun that allow them to experience sports that may be part of their high school experience as well as recreational outdoor activities. The overnight program is rounded out by evening programming on our beautiful rural waterfront campus.
Character Development: This program helps build the following traits
Curiosity: In both the academic and the athletic aspects of this program, students are prompted to identify their strengths and passions and find ways of using both to advance their understanding, whether of a math problem or a sailing technique. Teaching techniques encourage personalized learning and growth.
Physicality: Academic success is fostered by an active body, so this program places strong emphasis on discovering pleasurable physical activities that can be a part of the student’s high school experience--whether those activities are varsity team sports or an individual fitness routine.
