(5) Overall experience
KidStrong has been a game-changer for both of our kids. It has helped our youngest come out of his shell and get his high level of energy out, and helped our autistic son find mental confidence and physical fortitude. Des and his team have been incredible, and it is so wonderful to see the way they empower the kids with mindset coaching and skills to enable lifelong success. The way the kids rank up at the end of a series of sessions just builds their confidence in themselves and achievement.
(5) Reason for choosing the camp
We initially saw the ad pre-opening, and Des really helped us understand what the program was. We were looking for something that would allow our son to focus on fitness while being a place for him to release the pent-up energy built during the school day and week.
(5) Program quality and activities
Our kids absolutely loved the program. It offers a great amount of variety. Each class is different, and it’s fast-paced, moving through 5 to 6 different activities through the 45-minute block. Initially, our oldest really struggled with anything related to chin-ups or hang poles, but through the support of the coaches, he gained the confidence and physical strength to be able to do it.
(5) Social dynamics and experience
We love the way that the classes start with a social greeting that encourages the kids to build confidence, introducing themselves with a firm handshake, eye contact, and a greeting. Our youngest has built a friend out of it and other social connections that he enjoys during the class. The classes are incredibly inclusive, and the coaches know how to balance the dynamics of the different kids' needs.
(5) Skills and growth
Our kids have gained confidence in themselves and have seen progress in their skills and capabilities from a physical conditioning and endurance perspective. The affirmations that class starts and ends with give them a formula for how to build their own way of getting through challenging scenarios in school and through other environments. The monkey bars and chin-ups really challenge the kids, but I love the way the coaches and program set realistic, achievable micro-steps to help them achieve success.
(5) Staff/Instructors/Counsellors
The facility has a parent app that makes it easy to reschedule and see your booked classes. However, the best part is the friendly team that greets you when you walk in and as you leave after each class. The owner comes up in chats with you and checks in. The staff just go out of their way to make sure that each kid has the right experience that they need.
(5) Advice and tips
We recommend KidStrong without hesitation and will continue to do so. The trial class is the way we started. What I love about the way they do it is that they celebrate the success of first class, complete with an award at the end, really just pumping the kids up and making them feel great. I think the program is fantastic for kids of all ages and needs, and we’ve seen it in our own two kids.
