Our students love coming to school. They often feel the day was too short! That is not just telling on not just how engaged the kids are but also how rich and robust our curriculum is. The day program has two academic blocks and an outdoor exploration block. We love Science experiments, creative writing, math, cooking, and arts and crafts. There is a lot of emphasis on building learning experiences that stay with the kids forever and are relatable to life around them. We take great pride in helping kids enjoy freedom of expression within a nurturing and structured enviournment , they learn about emotional well being, healthy choices with food and habits and most of all they learn to develop a strong language of self expression.

The Our Kids review of Junction Micro School

    our take

Junction Micro School’s summer camp and afterschool programs take a holistic approach to learning—one that blends creativity, movement, and thoughtful guidance. The summer camp centres on artistic exploration, with painting, sculpture, and mixed-media crafting woven into interactive play. Days unfold at a relaxed, kid-friendly pace, allowing children to immerse themselves fully in projects and friendships. Regular outdoor time at Vine Ave playground adds balance, with games, water play, and open-air activities that keep energy high and spirits light.
During the school year, after-school creative classes have a similar artistic focus, where students build sketching skills and experiment with a range of media in a relaxed, supportive setting. There’s a clear throughline in all that the school offers: nurturing curiosity, creativity, and healthy choices while preserving the joy of play.
Underpinning this is founder Nishi Chandra’s passion for teaching and commitment to equipping children with tools to navigate life confidently. The result is programming that's intentional yet gentle, fostering growth, self-expression, and a lasting love of learning.

What our parent has to say

Our daughter was a student with Ms Nishi for Three years, and we were beyond happy with the dedication, passion and support Nishi showed her in those almost 3 years of being her dedicated teacher. Nishi had a very relaxed demeanour which the kids mirrored throughout their day. She would always find creative ways to teach the children inside and outside the classroom and truly wants what is best for the children and forms a bond very quickly which continues to strengthen throughout their time together. In addition to being her regular teacher, our daughter has also been attending art classes with Ms Nishi which has enabled her creativity to blossom. ... Show More

    Director's Message

As The founder of the Junction Micro School and The Artcart, I take great pride in saying that I have created a space that truly celebrates creativity and provides a wonderful learning environment. When I reflect back at what life was as a student , it is not a surprise that I have needless stories of teachers that ranged from being disciplinarians to extreme disciplinarians. I dreaded the math and science class but loved the geography class only because the teacher in the latter had a pleasant and fun disposition. My creative side didn't surface till I finished school, thanks to the overall focus of the school and the society in general, which was largely hinged on two words - academic excellence. In hindsight, I think the discipline piece helped shape some valuable traits in me. I’m very grateful to my teachers who taught me how to respect time, the importance of structure in life and the simplicity that comes with the concept of “less is more”. However I wish that the style of teaching was a little softened whereby a student could be encouraged to discover and pursue an area of interest. I felt a strong need to become the kind of teacher I never had. That in short was the whole reason for me pursuing a career in teaching and later founding the Artcart in 2019 and The Junction Micro School in 2024. The Artcart is a fine art school that offers a very unique creative journey to its students. While there is a basic outline of curriculum in place the students are free to embark upon their own trail of artistic expression. The outcome is always fabulous and very rewarding. There is a lot of engagement with each student for an exchange of ideas because all art is mostly about self expression. The Artcart offers after school programs and creative Summer art camps. The Junction Micro School offers full day learning programs for games 4 to 9 years. A small group of students learn and thrive in a creative environment. The focus of our program is on building a confident and happy child. We believe in a balanced mind and body approach. We want our kids to choose wisely when it comes to eating habits, use of technology and all that consumerism offers. Our day with yoga and breath work. The kids spend two hours a day in outdoor activities and learning. This not only helps them expend energy and breathe in the fresh air but also ties together the learning piece beautifully . The two academic blocks of an hour each are structured to ensure a robust academic curriculum Our kids don't ever want to miss school, that is a testimony to our commitment.
